Roles and Responsibilities of the Division of Public Safety
|

-
Kentucky Revised Statute Section 39 requires that each county Judge Executive in the Commonwealth of Kentucky appoint someone qualified and experienced to the position of Emergency Management Director. Given that Laurel County's participation was overwhelming in several different programs and that the Emergency Management Director would be responsible for an abundance of emergency services tasks, in October of 2000, the Laurel County Judge Executive and the Fiscal Court members enacted a county ordinance that created the Laurel County Division of Public Safety and Emergency Management Office. The Director for the Laurel County Division of Public Safety and Emergency Management is directly in the line of succession with and for the County Judge Executive for emergency response and emergency response planning issues.
The Laurel County Division of Public Safety participates in or manages the following:
-
